Naz’s Story
I was on meth and crank.
Now I'm on the payroll!
In his own words: “If I had not found Mission Waco’s Manna House, I’d
probably be dead from an overdose or in prison for life.
Instead of drugs and jail, I found joy and purpose.”
As a Muslim, growing up in Singapore, Naz, at 17, had been abandoned by both his father and his mother. His fear and turmoil led to drug use and, within the year, he was hooked on meth, then crank, (often the cheapest form of meth), a drug that has a devastating impact on the body. By now in the U.S., Naz began selling drugs and was arrested five times. When his last meth hit landed him in a psychiatric hospital, Naz was court ordered to rehab. Mission Waco’s Manna House became his choice.
The three to six month, holistic approach integrates proven treatment modalities with Christian spirituality — just what Naz needed to beat drugs and meet God who “showed me love.” Naz has been clean and sober for 18 months with a good job in Waco and encouraging friends to support his further growth.
