Baylor Alums Connect With Mission Waco “Mobilizing” Efforts
Labor Day Waco Weekend and MxCity Christmas Trip to Orphanage
Baylor University has strong numbers of Christian alums who want to make a difference
in the world! The Baylor Alumni Association has recently partnered with us to provide two
initial experiences. The first is Labor Day Weekend, when many alums will come to Waco for
the first football game under new Coach Briles. Besides the Baylor/Wake Forest Game,
included in this long weekend (Friday-Monday), Alums can stay at Mission Waco’s Training
Center, work with our volunteers with children in a local housing project, attend Church
Under the Bridge, and be involved in both discussions and work projects relating to Waco’s
poverty. Cost is $120/each, which includes football ticket. Just after Christmas, Mission
Waco will offer a special trip to Mexico City (December 27-January 2) on our “God in the
Cities” exposure trips. Cost is $1050 and includes all expenses. Families are welcome.
We’ll work in an orphanage for physically and mentally challenged children, visit numerous
urban ministries, see the Mexican pyramids and Basilica de San Juan, and more. Contact
Jimmy or Janet Dorrell at 254.753.4900 for details.
Applications are available above.

Haiti
The goal of exposure/work trips, such as Haiti, is to expose, educate and allow work experience in a missions setting and immersion into a setting that has minimal resources. The Poverty Simulation is highly encouraged before attending this trip. Age 18 and up.
Haiti is the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere. We'll go to Ferrier, a village of about 10,000 and stay at the World Hunger Relief Farm, continuing construction work on a school for the poorest of the poor children there, along with other projects in the community. There will be one tourist trip to The Citadel, an incredible mountain fortress accessed by horseback.
