4-Star Rating!

Dear Mission Waco Supporter,

We received some great news this week that we wanted to pass along to you, since you have so generously chosen to financially help support our urban ministry among the poor and marginalized.

I received a letter, dated May 30, 2008, from Charity Navigator, an independent group that evaluates over 5300 non-profit organizations for fiscal management so donors can determine more intelligently to donate to them or not. The letter begins, “Congratulations on achieving our coveted 4-star rating!” Their evaluation covers areas of organization efficiency and capacity. The evaluation was based on annual outside audits, an practice which our board of directors has made standard for our ministry.

Only one-quarter (1/4) of those non-profits that they evaluate received this highest rating. Mission Waco (legal name: Cross Culture Experiences) moved up a full category to their highest standard. The details are listed for Mission Waco at http://www.charitynavigator.org

Especially as a Christian organization, we believe fiscal responsibility should be a high priority! Our administrative team works very hard to insure accountant ability. While Mission Waco’s empowerment-based approach to helping thousands of the poor and marginalized locally and internationally drives our mission, we know that we would not be able to do what we do without your support. We were very pleased to receive this outside evaluation so you could know that your dollars are being used wisely and as good stewards of God’s resources. As our economy tightens, we know that your discretionary dollars become more precious while you decide how you give.

Thanks again for your commitment to us that we might “bring good news to the poor” and encourage their steps toward being more of who God called them and created them to become.

Blessings,

Jimmy Dorrell
President and Executive Director
